ESSENTIALS OF REFLECTIVE JOURNAL PRACTICE 2
ESSENTIALS OF REFLECTIVE JOURNAL PRACTICE 2
SELF REFLECTIVE JOURNAL 2
The following is a reflection journal paper on the validation of nursing students' adoption of the course goals of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs for the DNP- 388 of the university. This also involves achieving the goals outlined in the Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice document published by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) (AACN, 2019). The Essentials of DNP Skills Programs outlined by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing provide a basis for university graduates. The AANCN fundamentals lay the groundwork for competency for all nurses pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice license and degree, from the theoretical and scientific basis of nursing through advanced nursing practices.
When it comes to DNP practices, the most important practical skills are those directly related to the area of specialization. Every Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) recipient must demonstrate competency in the areas of psychological, behavioral, economic, and cultural applications in assessment skills and procedures (AACN, 2019). DNP recipients have shown proficiency in various program abilities and skills. Scholars have developed impressive critical-thinking skills and a framework for making quick, mature decisions under pressure. Graduates tend to possess a range of remarkable abilities, including applying a systematic and the right health and sickness assessment framework to complex health care cases while drawing on a range of cultural perspectives (Pritham & White, 2016). It is organized in health science and allied fields alongside the design, application, and interpretation of therapeutic conciliation. Leadership skills and the ability to assess and mitigate complicated health and medical risks have also been developed by DNA scholars. Therefore, this paves the way for innovative and methodical problem-solving, demographic, and political analysis, and maneuvering within the medical context (AACN, 2019).
Due to the expansion and rising cases of health care complexity, DNP practices necessitate a go with mandate that reassesses the education and of the clinical and all health professionals. I learned about the DNP program's details, the quality of care provided to the community, and its socioeconomic and environmental impacts. I learned about the new phases of health care delivery systems that are expected after the completion of the program, including consultative leadership in interpersonal and occupational relationship maintenance. Furthermore, I expected that as I undergo the DNP program demanded that I should advocate for more just and ethical practices within healthcare institutions and organizations. Care planning and authoritative guidance are also needed in forming health care financing foundations. Adoptions and sensitization of the developing communication technologies sparked a need for correct and fast health information delivery. I found out that the skills gained from the program show competence in using the appropriate formal and up-to-date information sources and securing patient health and clinical data. The DNP program helps find and recognize cutting-edge, high-quality care dispensation frameworks to disseminate best practices in patient safety and quality of care (Pritham & White, 2016). The application of information and essay servers is critical in the sentimental articulation of ideas regarding the AACN DNP program. In addition, the positive effects reaffirm technology's role in health care on providers' credibility and capacity to make progress in providing high-quality care.
The completion of the DNP program at the university is a significant achievement. The professor was at the forefront to offer commendable guidance, support, and timely reminders during the discussion weeks. The DNP scholar has developed much knowledge and great experience during the course and general DNP programs. Generally, knowledge reflection results from experience and better nursing decisions on their practices (Pritham & White, 2016). Health care stakeholders and the AACN are elemental in ensuring the spreading of knowledge and expertise and equipping professional practices. The program offers the best outcome in competence of healthcare providers if all requirements are followed accordingly.

Running head: POPULATION MANAGEMENT 1
POPULATION MANAGEMENT 11
The population-based problem of interest is the drug and substance abuse among adolescents that has caused many effects on the young population ruining their future. The problem is interesting because it affects any society in developing and developed countries. The challenge is present in the community, and it causes much worry because it is affecting the lives of the young population in the future (Singh, 2021). The challenge should be mitigated by educating and creating awareness among the adolescent population to understand the risks of their actions in engaging in drug and substance abuse. The effects of the problem are mitigated by making sure that the population that is affected is aware of the consequences of the behavior of abusing drugs, including the effects on their future education and living standards. There is also rehabilitation directed to addicted adolescents that helps them to abstain. Public health plays an important role in educating and creating public awareness about the risks of drugs and substance abuse to protect young people and the population in general (Singh, 2021). Public health is critical in my community in educating and training the population about prevention and mitigation strategies good for a healthy lifestyle that is critical to the well-being and better lives of the people.

The FDA has established that every research involving human participants must be reviewed and monitored by an Institutional Review Board (IRB). According to FDA rules, an IRB can either green-light a study or require changes before giving its blessing (Song, 2021). The participation of this group review is essential in ensuring the safety and security of research subjects. An IRB's primary responsibility is to assess proposed research projects involving human subjects to make sure that proper precautions have been taken to secure the subjects' safety and rights. In order to protect the rights and well-being of research subjects, IRBs conduct reviews of research protocols and supporting materials using a consensus-based, group-based method (such as informed consent documents and investigator brochures). Making sure adequate precautions are taken to protect the rights and well-being of study participants is a key element of the IRB's determinations, which is why it conducts both pre-study and ongoing reviews (Song, 2021). The validation of new medicines for patients is one scenario in which a healthcare company must obtain IRB clearances, in particular when testing on human subjects. The goal of healthcare quality improvement is to hasten patients' recoveries, and approval is required for their safety and this result to offering the best care.

Groups of patients can be characterized by analyzing aggregate data. This facilitates the ability of healthcare providers to recognize shared features that may indicate prognosis or reveal insights into optimal treatment. It sees widespread application in the field of disease prevention. Patient interviews, scientific studies, and statistical analysis can help with this. Using pooled information, scientists could discover causal relationships between smoking and lung cancer or between diabetes and physical activity. It's a terrific tool for informing patients and doctors about the correlations between patients' lifestyle choices and health outcomes (Hinds, 2017). The disease affecting my population is diabetes, and it has become a huge challenge where it burdens the healthcare system and affects people from engaging in their day-to-day operations. I recommend the evidence-based practice toward diabetes to be dietary interventions and physical activities for the population to avoid the disease. The change of lifestyle for the population is critical, where a change of diet based on the research on the best foods to take and the ones to avoid and recommending regular exercise that minimizes the risk factors like obesity (Hinds, 2017). Exercise and diet help reduce the disease's risk factors, and prevention is a better intervention. Related data is critical for informed decision-making in the strategies adopted in managing diseases.

We are all responsible for our own health and well-being. The health of a population as a whole may not reflect the health of its individual members. The first step in considering public health is for an individual to take responsibility for his or her own health, which extends beyond what is considered public. A person's health is influenced by their social environment, which includes their education, money, access to healthcare, and social stigma. Social variables, particularly, have a significant bearing on health outcomes, especially for the most disadvantaged members of society, as seen below. People with higher levels of education are more likely to engage in healthful habits than those with lower levels of education or who are illiterate (Qudah & Luetsch, 2019). However, compared to those from more financially secure origins, those from lower socioeconomic status are less likely to be in excellent health because they lack the resources to access and purchase adequate health care. Those who are unable to express their thoughts and feelings to others freely are also at a greater risk of developing mental health issues than their more open-minded counterparts. Healthcare practitioners and service providers should be given more autonomy within the system so that patients receive the best possible treatment. The modern world has inspired me to embrace diversity by listening to and learning from people from all walks of life to meet their individual healthcare needs. However, technology has impacted service delivery by enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of patient care, leading to better patient outcomes (Qudah & Luetsch, 2019). Over and above this, influence has led to change and advancements like evidence-based practices, which at present have empowered the quality of services delivered to patients, improving good health and well-being.

The term "politics" encompasses more than just the process of voting. Taking care of people's health should be a top priority. Politics helps the health care sector get funds, shape policy, and lobby for improved outcomes, all impacting the quality of care patients receive. In a broad sense, politics entails any endeavor that involves making decisions that strengthen connections among people and the allocation of resources. Governing bodies and prominent figures in the health sector affect people's well-being in the following ways through the policies they enact, the resources they develop, and the rights they fight for. The political environment is favorable for the health care industry at the moment. Leaders typically gain support from their constituents through health care manifestos (Williams et al., 2018). Budgeting is a political process, and different government states allocate varying amounts of money to satisfy service provider demands and purchase things that increase the quality of care provided. The government typically provides support for health care professionals utilizing salary and incentives for providing high-quality care. The allocation of a state's resources, which is largely determined by politics, can significantly impact service quality. DNP nurses should participate in developing health policies that promote people's health and work with government officials to make it possible for implementation purposes and enforcement (Williams et al., 2018). To combat the spread of the current worldwide epidemic, for instance, the government and the health department have collaborated to enact laws like mandatory mask use and increased social distance.

The cultural competence and assessment checklist assisted in understanding the broad aspect of the nursing profession, especially in considering the patient culture during their treatment, which is critical in bringing significant change. Understanding the culture of the patients is a determinant that the care with the patient would be better because the nurses would work within the patient's norms and traditions (Raman, 2015). I learned as a nurse that being culturally competent can provide excellent treatment to patients while also respecting their backgrounds, customs, and traditions. Recognizing the cultural differences among patients and catering to those needs is essential. Cultural competence helps nurses better connect with their patients and meet their complex demands. Patients in hospitals frequently experience high levels of anxiety and restlessness. They may be more receptive to treatment and overall care if they know that someone on their care team knows their language or understands their particular history. The understanding has led to personal growth, especially in having empathy towards the patients doing my practice better (Raman, 2015). My personal worldview about the underserved population within my community is that they value much about their religion and culture much, which has made them uneasy in seeking services from nurses with different perceptions about their beliefs. I believe that nurses should focus more on understanding cultural diversity, making it easy to work with all patients despite their cultural differences.

Health literacy and health promotion routines are both important for long and healthy life. They also have a major impact on lowering the rising healthcare expenditures associated with lifestyle diseases that can be prevented and slowing the progression of the disease in individuals. The literature about the health factors and promoting them is critical in healthcare because it contributes to reducing lifestyle diseases and other conditions by living right through a good diet and engaging in regular exercise (Bakogianni, 2019). The disease prevention strategies that are health literacy and promotion ensure that the population understands the risks of certain diseases and the best way of preventing them, like taking a balanced diet and food less in calories, sugar, and fats to avoid diabetes. A lot of responsibility for health and safety falls on the shoulders of nurses in all settings. The foundation of nursing is that of a caring profession that promotes health and prevents illness. Because of their expertise in navigating the healthcare system, nurses are powerful advocates for their patients. Case management is a position that nurses can fill formally or informally. Case managers are registered nurses whose only responsibility is to guide patients and their families through the complex maze of the modern healthcare system. All nurses, formally and informally, collaborate with patients and their loved ones to provide the all-encompassing care essential for the best possible outcomes (Bakogianni, 2019). As consultants, nurses help businesses and government agencies choose what services they should provide to meet the health care requirements of their constituents. The nursing profession is often considered as the first line in patient care. They are the ones giving actual attention to patients.

There has been a shift in perspective regarding the importance of healthcare, with attention shifting from the individual to the collective good. Main political, economic, and other factors influence the situation in both industrialized and developing countries, with mortality and infections serving as focal points in the former and healthcare spending in the latter. Diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis, which can be easily prevented or treated in developed countries, but it kills roughly 10 million people each year in developing nations (Barreto, 2017). The disparity between the economies of the richest and the poorest countries is widening due to the inequalities between the developed and developing worlds. This crisis is most acute in the world's poorest nations, where both the rate of disease transmission and the prevalence of hazardous environmental conditions are highest. Global health inequalities could be affected by the political climate in different countries. According to some studies, alterations in the country's social and political climate affect the nation's healthcare system and the general health of its citizens. As a result of geopolitical shifts and ongoing conflicts, many people from many countries have been forced to flee their homes, shedding light on the disparity between the healthcare systems of rich and developing countries. The hypothesis that resource availability and consumption are to blame for health inequalities posits that wealthier countries were able to acquire healthcare funding because of their advantage in the global economy (Barreto, 2017). As a DNP-educated nurse, I would advocate for the patients better in ensuring that everyone gets quality care. The approach is possible in taking leadership positions in healthcare in championing for quality care and also considering running for a public office to advocate for the patients to receive equity in healthcare.
